Small Backpack / Daypack - Best Bang for the Buck
I am looking for a backpack for travel purposes....not just as carry-on luggage, but to schlepp things around as we go tourist.

Blackhawk Stash Pack - anybody here use this or see it in use?
Thoughts?
Alternate ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Tactical Tailor Removeable Operator pack or Grey Ghost Lightweight Assault pack.
Yeah, I would +1 for maxpedition gear. I have a jumbo that I use as an EDC bag. Been using that everyday for the past two years now and not one problem with it. If you order from them direct it can be rather pricey but a quick amazon search should clear that up.

Is the Maxpedition reasonably confortable to wear, for examble if I'm hiking or ziplining?

Yes i have the bigger version which is the falcon 2 packed down to 25 pounds, and i can where it for a good couple miles. Also i don't hike much so i am sure someone else who does this often could wear it longer. ots very comfortable to me.

Yes my jumbo versi pack has a nice wide padded strap that goes over the actual shoulder strap. It also comes with a waist strap to keep it from flopping around on your side. The pack itself is also padded in various spots on the inside (body side) of the pack. It also has a compartment that can be used for CC. Its all around GTG gear.

Expand your horizons outside of the .mil packs. I sold all my Maxpedition and MOLLE day packs after buying a KELTY day pack. It's a Kelty Shrike in Grey/Tan. It's super comfortable got awesome zippers, good storage and orginization and the grey/tan still blends in really well to most environments around here. And when you go on trips (especially outside the country) you don't look like a contractor when you carry it around.
Everything I carry in thta bag daily with lots of room to spare
The big difference between the Blackhawk pack that the OP asked about, and all the other packs mentioned in this thread, is that the Blackhawk pack folds up into a small package.
It's great for when you may need an extra bag, for example if you're on vacation and pick up some souveniers but don't have room in your suitcase for them. The Blackhawk bag is definitely not as rugged as a typical bagpack, but it's not really meant for regular use.

Good to know.
Thank you.
I am leaning more towards the Kelty or the Pygmy.
I've got the Grey Ghost removable operator pack that I picked up when it was in preproduction. Has held up well and is very lightweight for its job. The only thing is that it screams military, so some places might not be best for it.
I also nabbed an Arc'teryx Hornet 18L (discontinued) for $35 shipped, whereas it retailed for around $100. Awesome pack, and generally what I use for everything. Not as much internal storage as the GG pack, but it's a different tool for a different job.
If I'm doing touristy things, I'd want a touristy backpack. I have a Karrimor hiking pack which is excellent for day/overnight loads. I don't know if it's available in the US. It was cheap too.
What are the postage stamps for?
It's a bag I carry with me everyday. I send envelopes with payments or just letters a lot of times. It's helpful to have a book of stamps on hand to affix to an envelope.
