finally found a carrier
I finally found a carrier that I am going to buy, can someone please explain to me how to measure for one, its a DBT cat carrier, its 12 inches in length and 44 waist. so since my waist is smaller than 36 it will be fine and it will be 12 inches from collar bone to belly button?
I'll take a stab at this.....
The carrier is 12" from the top of the carrier (part that sits under your throat) to the bottom of the cummerbund in the front.
If the waist is 44" then that means that is the maximum length it can be let out to fit around your waistline. You can cinch it up to make the carrier up to 8" smaller but you can not make it fit larger then the 44". So the waistline would essentially fit 34"-44" waist.
I am 6'5" so I order mine Long which makes them 14" top to bottom instead of 12" like the one you are looking at. If you do not have a long midsection then the 12" will be fine.
Sounds like you are looking at a size Large + W1 and from what you have described it should fit just fine leaving you plenty of room to extend out if you need to wear bulkier clothing in the cold months or you drink way too much beer and develop a nice trophy gut/dickie doo.
