Would you buy this Marlin 60?

Local pawn shop has a wooden stock Marlin 60 for sale. The barrel has some exterior rust, though not too significant. Should come off with a little elbow grease. Everything else seems to be in good condition with it and the asking price is $125.

Decent deal?

If they are asking $125, they'll probably take a $100, go for it.

No, not when I can pick up a brand new Marlin 795 for not much more. Pretty much the same gun, but mag fed instead of tube.

I bought a new one two years ago for $143.

You can find them used for under $100 if you look around.

I can't leave my rifles alone so now it looks like this.

That's my understanding. I've ready nothing but good reviews about the 795. I don't *need* another .22, but I really should pick one up one of these days.

If it's old the previous owner probably sold it for 50-70. Newer one 75-90.

That's my speculation, there are lots of them out in circulation so don't spend more than you would like too.

It's the same gun, just magazine fed.
