Do you still have to pay the 200 dollar tax everytime you place a class 3 weapon in your trust?

You have to pay the $200 tax for each NFA weapon. Has nothing to do with the trust.

Thanks. Thought the whole point of a trust was so you didn't have to deal with the form 1 and 200 dollars every time. Why would you pay a lawyer 600 bucks and still pay the 200 for each weapon. seems the only good thing is if you die.

Because in a lot of localities the sheriff will not sign off, so a trust is the only way.

it's my understanding that it's just another way to get approved if your local LE chief won't sign off on the application. the ATF fees are a separate issue.

A trust means no leo sign-off, no fingerprinting, no passport photo, and people other than yourself, assuming you have them on the trust, can posses your NFA item.

Ding Ding Ding - This is the main reason I went that route. This way the wife can use it/them as well

The trust is also worth it if you plan on doing more than one NFA item. It cuts down on the workload significantly.

Also $600 for a trust is WAY to much. I charge AR15 members in Texas half that.
