gun/barrel refinishing
planning on using cerakote. when i prep parts what are you guys using to plug barrels for blasting/painting? will corks survive the blast or is there some hard plastic plug i can use? also do you guys paint all the parts in the gun, or those that can just be seen on the exterior. i understand that cerakote is thin but dont want to bite off more than i can chew. the gun im refinishing is S&W 39-2..thnx
We use high temp rubber plugs. Cork plugs will work but wear out fast. We coat all the parts inside and out. If applied to the correct thickness you wont run into any re assembly issues. Good luck with your project and post some pics when you get it done.
+1 on high temp rubber....only way to go.
where can i find them high temp rubber plugs?
Most hardware stores will have them or lauer weaponry has them
