What to do, what to do!?

I have an old old old Coastal Passport .22 can.

Even though it's non-take-apart-able, I've had it apart, and it's really just a spacer/washer design.

Coastal offers a retrofit service, to install their latest K-baffles, cost for this is $150 (including refinishing)

But then I saw that Liberty can also retrofit a Passport with their monocore. Cost, with takedown tool, $380.

Is the liberty retrofit worth it? How does it compare to a Passport with K-baffles? I'd imagine it would be about the same as my Outback III Upgrade.

John at Silencer Research offers an upgrade also to his K baffles. (or used to) They are higher performance than Coastal's baffles and might justify a slightly higher cost.

Gemtech I believe was offering them to their Outback customers starting at ~$120 I believe (aluminum outback II D baffles). $150 is pretty high for replacement of a few K baffles. It's part replacement of existing inventoried components, so what are these components worth? 6-7 baffles at even $8 a pop would be $56.

The major cost in these retrofits is getting the can apart. If Coastal's service includes getting the can apart that would make sense. That can take quite a bit of work if the owner hasn't taken it apart and cleaned it regularly.

I've had it apart often, it's really no big deal.

I did the Gemtech update, and ended up with all Ti baffles in my Outback 1, which had been upgraded to II in the past.

Just wondering what my options are.

Aren't you Griffin Armament? Do you do any retrofits?

$380??....You're approaching "a new Sparrow + Stamp" money

I say do the cheapest retrofit you can, and/or perhaps look into a new can...Then you'll have 2!!

But yes, I definitely dig a monocore design.
