Hey does anybody know the model number for the M203? Like the M4 is RO920, the M4A1 is RO921? Any body know the numbers for the M203?

Those model numbers you reference are for Colt rifles only. As far as I know, the M203 is universally the M203 for those that make it.

Well reason I know its got some kinda number is I saw a m203 that was nib and the label had M203 and under it ROXXX, but at the time I didn't think to take a pic or just plain remeber the damn thing, I'm currently saving up for a colt 203 but its gonna be a while!!

While I do appreciate the model # for the LMT I'm looking for the Colt, but your right on the money for LMT's, M203 is the military's designation, the actual model number starts with RO and then a 3 digit number for Colt. My M4 box has this as on the label:
W665958
MODEL RO920

On another tag it has the NSN and P/N 9390000, I'm trying to post the pics but this is all from my phone and its not cooperating, thanks though

James

Update: Friend of mine sent me a pic of the box, its model RO801 fyi

Get an LMT, they seem to be built better and are CNC from a solid piece of aluminum, Colt ones are cast. I say this because I'm in USMC Armorers school now and just finished the class on the M203, they had both Colt and LMTs with a 3rd manufacturer "MFR OA535" (not sure what that's about) but they were both CNC made. The non Colt 203s seemed to be a bit heavier and "solid", I have a Colt M203 at home and this makes me want to sell it to get an LMT.

Yes, that is scotch tape holding the pins in so they don't fall out. These have been taken apart at least 6 times a week for a few years now. Always by inexperienced people, I figured I'll cover that now before anyone asks. The barrel stop a d barrel latch pins fell out of mine when I picked it up.

Holy crap Tom... They need a retread on those holes! WOW!

Shivaks don't have a "Model" number on them. I don't know why people pay more for Colts... up to 3500 and higher. Quality is quality, but, in this case, you are paying 2 grand for the Colt name. Keep in mind also, that people normally don't beat up their own launchers () and if taken care of, yours will never look like that one in the photo. (Also a good reason NOT to completely disassemble it unless it is broken.) GROG

Hey I don't mean to sound rude here being a former 45B myself but Colt's M203 is most definitely are NOT cast, they are made from forgins, the extra weight might be attributed the billet manufacture process, as to whether or not forged vs billet is better that's a whole different topic. It comes up frequently over on the M14 forum about LRB's forged vs SEI's billet receiver, and really I don't think its ever been proven which is better, my M1A is over 22 years old and runs like a champ everytime I take it out, it is however cast steel not aluminum. Also I've never seen one of those M203 marked like that, anybody have any ideas who made it? I looked up the cage code and found nothing, Balimoy maybe? I thought perhaps Areotronics/RM Equipment?

PS if you ever think about selling that colt m203, let me know, I will pay for a name, like with my LE6921 : )

Oh ok ya I remember grog saying he had a black forging that could either be finished into a master key or 203. Either way the NON Colts felt a but me solid and I'd rather have one of those.

No, I'm at Ft Lee right now for MOS training. 2111 for Marines and 91F for Army, I can't wait to get out of here. James, look over in the NFA exchange section, my colt is over there, then check your IMs
