Shooting the H&K MP5SD
I had a fun weekend...

I'm new to this full-auto stuff. Not my gun, but man did I have a good time.
looks cool! Not using subsonic ammo? or where there other shooters on the line?
Not using subsonic ammo, others were present. I was told the gun makes all ammo subsonic due to integral suppression. I chose to use protection anyway.
That's a nice gun! I enjoyed shooting it, too. It was nice to meet you and the other guys. Did you get to see the MP-40 run through the course?
Using subsonic in a factory-spec MP5SD will result in squibs stuck in the barrel due to the barrel porting. The SD, if converted to factory spec or if a factory produced SD, must use supersonic ammo. As previously mentioned the ported barrel drops all supersonic ammo to subsonic. It is part of the beauty of the SD.
Looks like fun. I miss my SD.
I'll likely own another before too long.
I had a great time. I saw the MP-40, but didn't get a chance to shoot it. I'm looking forward to next time.
Man I cannot wait until my Knights Armament SD suppressor gets approved

Are there transferable MP5SDs out there? If so, what is the going rate? Do they require one or two stamps, given mg and integral suppression?
Thanks.
Two stamps (gun and can)- three if gun is registered SBR with a separate registered FA sear or pack. The can may look integral at first glance, but it's a screw-off.
There are transferrables; base of price range likely around $16.5 just now, upper end in low 20's.
Here is a chart showing price ranges and trends for the SD.
Ralph at RTDS can also do SD conversions out of SP89's and HK94s. He even can do a MP5kSD (k-length SD), which is what I have.
He does nice work.

can you post a picture of your K-SD

Have always wanted a SD version...but went with a Mp5A3 with a three lug barrel instead. Like the ability to mount a suppressor at will.
That being said....if I had an extra $15K sitting around that the wife did not know about....a SD would magically appear in the safe!
nice looking gun!
Looks like a ton o fun
