I just got a SCAR 16 dark earth and would like to change the factory flash hider to 51T.
Does anyone know where to get and who has the lowest price?
thanks in advance.

Midway has them for around $90. I haven't seen them for less.

Thank you sir...
Unfortunately, Midway is out. any other reliable source?
How's the performance compare to the original factory one?

The stock muzzle device is the FSC556 flash suppressing compensator/brake. The AAC 18T/51T is a flash suppressor, and from what I have read, it is on-par with a Vortex for flash suppression. The AAC is not a compensator/brake, but can accept their sound suppressors.

My take on this: after putting over 500 rd thru the 16S at the range, I felt the recoil impulse was on-par with my M4 carbine (Adams Arms piston kit, RRA 9mm buffer, Magpul MOE stock, Vortex flash suppressor) with much less muzzle rise. After talking to other shooters, I installed the FSC556 on my M4 carbine and will test it soon. If I can get the same reduction in muzzle rise with the M4/FSC556, I'd have achieved my goal.

FWIW other shooters complained about the noise from my M4/Vortex and didn't say anything about the SCAR 16S w/ the FSC556. These are Fudds that brought their 30-06/.308 bolt guns.

hmmm... it seems like I should just keep the stock muzzle brake.
I didn't know that ACC only reduces flash compare to the factory 16S muzzle brake.

There's a good reason for that. The AAC Flash suppressor (18T?) is used on the MK 16 (military version) for flash suppression and for use with the AAC sound suppressor. It's useful to Soldiers because it hides the muzzle flashes. I saw one video of the Vortex being tested on M240 in a helicopter at night, and there wasn't any visible muzzle flash to the operator when using the NVD.

You could get a Brakeout, a combination single chamber muzzle brake and three prong flash hider.

Does anyone know how bad the side blast is on the brakeouts?

Keep in mind that changing your muzzle device will void the SCARs warranty. Heard it from the horses mouth at FN.

I looking at this with some skepticism. Has anyone gotten the same info? By that logic changing any part on a SCAR or any FN firearm may void the warranty. WTF is my reaction as well but that is because if the policy is true it makes absolutely no sense.

I guess chopping my barrel to 10" must void the warranty as well, but I'll risk it.
