Is the biggest complaint about the F2000 trirail is that it is too heavy?

Seems like a lot of guys have this complaint, but other than that is there anything that is generally disliked about it?

I got offered an F2000 and with the Monolith forend not a reality was looking for other options if i pick it up.

That's really it.. It kind of messes with the balance to most people. It installs tight too but other than that it's good

What does it weigh? I can't find a hard number but it sounds like it is steel and about 32 ounces(?!?!)

It's aluminum, I don't have the weight but I'll search.

Fwiw the FN factory SCAR rail extender is .525lb according to midway

I have one and besides the weight it is not as ergonomic (IMO) as the standard and does upset the balance.

I have it on for now because it is easier to mount a flashlight and it is my heavy HD weapon with EOTech, laser and light but I am thinking seriously of going to the other and dumping this one

Just recently installed one on my FS2000 "standard"model with the factory optic.

It is a sturdy piece of gear and you can feel that it changes the balance, BUT put a loaded 30-round magazine in and the original balance returns. Everything is heavier of course, but how else am I going to mount a light?

it's heavy but allows you to install a vertical grip and or bi-pod. I found that the standard plastic grip can actually slightly rotate in your hand while shooting resulting in inaccuracy
while the tri-rail with a vert grip solves that problem. (using the standard grip you won't notice it at shorter distances with an eotech etc..,however; I realized this problem while shooting with an ACOG scope at longer distances)

I was going to get either the Magpul vert grip or a Tango Down stubby Vert grip. Seems like it needs it for better control. The tactical does feel a bit nose heavy.

18.8 ounces with Magpul RVG attached. It is aluminum with steel (I assume) screws.

just weighed mine:
trirail piece: 458g (16.2 ounces)
stock piece: 130g
458g-130g=328g (11.6 ounces)
