Been using them on bird hunts for a few years. They are ok for small caliber pistol/rifle and shotguns however are not as effective when shooting large caliber rifles. Using foam ear plugs in combination with the Howard muffs works really well and makes shooting my 50 pleasant.
Yeah, I've had a pair for 4 years or so. They are comfortable and the sound amplification is a neat feature.
I use these muffs for my 9mm and 5.56.....if your planning on blasting some larger cartridges I would recommend ear plugs as well....
I use them WITH earplugs behind the AR50. I covered the mics with OD Green ducktape for use with an IPod on a C-130 flight. They also work well now for mowing the lawn. I'll keep the tape on until the next time I'm shooting around other. Oh, and I covered the soft stuff on the mics with some plactic from a wrapper before I taped them, in-flight.
