What could one do to make swiss made sig 552 handguards fit the 556 classic pistol or patrol rifle. I have read that they are a little shorter. would a new ring that is longer work or is there some type of bubba fix.
I have thought about getting the 550 guards and cutting them down but if there is a way to make the 552's work then would like to do that.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I just found a old post about this and that is where MFI has stepped in and made th aftermarket handguard but maybe somebody has figured something else out.
Thinking about getting a set from them.
MFI makes 552 style handguards and a retaining ring that fit the 556 pistol but I keep hearing people say they are fragile.
Purchased a set from MFI. Got a broken set as the price was alot cheaper and they are going on the 522 pistol.
Yes, a little on the thin side but don't think I will be going out and playing commando so can live with it.
Just have to add a little epoxy and they will fit just fine.
I would buy from them again in a heart beat.
Here is a pic. with them installed. And one of the MFI fake cans with SEAL markings.

Hope they release their sight set soon....
