I took it out once to the range to test function mainly before sending it off to have the barrel threaded and the handguard put on. I only shot it at 25 meters to zero the scope and try for a few groups. My best 5 shot group was right at about a 1/4" with 4 holes touching and one slightly apart. The others were a bit closer to 1/2". This was with the not so great factory trigger and non free float handguard and using Federal green tip ammo. I am expecting at least 1 MOA out of it now with the SSA trigger and free float handguards with the same green tip ammo. If it can consistently get 1 MOA groups with the green tip I will start loading some match ammo for it.
I think I've seen that one before
but not with all the parts back on it.
Looking good !
Thanks for the great work on the muzzle threading and handguard installation GunCat. Now I just hope it shoots as good as it looks.
Oh, and you were right about the sling swivel stud for the bi-pod. I used a nut from the back side and I was able to finagle it in there just enough to get the stud threaded in without having to remove the handguard. The hole in the handguard was too big to tap already anyway. I just used a little rubber washer between the stud and the rail surface to keep it from digging into the rail when I tightened it down. All tightened down there was still plenty of clearance so the shaft of the stud isn't contacting the barrel.
