Mini 14 Tactical accessory options.

My Mini has the black synthetic stock with a factory flash hider.
I want an M14 / SOCOM look to it.
What rail systems are out there?
Are there any M14 or SOCOM flash hiders?
An opinion on handguard / barrel covers. Railed or Vented?
What is the big deal with the Ultimak rails getting installed?
Is it that hard? I'm a mechanic and don't see the big deal. That is what worries me.
Can you mount a barrel mounted rail on a Accu-Strut or will it interfere with its operation? I'm looking to use it for a bi-pod.
How about a butstock mag pouch ? Who has them.

We can answer all your questions, but some of them are contradictory.

As with all firearms owners, you need to establish what you really need, from what you want.

What are the intended purposes of your firearm? Be ruthless in defining this, as no firearm can do all things well.

This tales some skull-sweat, as we all want some things that we might not really need.

Go think on this HARD for a week, and we will be happy to help you.

For starters, your Mini is originally intended as a short-to medium-range carbine. Even with the newer. thicker barrel in the Tactical models, it is unlikely that most newer models will be long range tack-drivers––although the jury is still out on this, to be fair.

Figure out what you want, and we can help.

In short I want it to be COOOL. How serious am I when I say I want my Mini to "look like" the one of the BEST platforms in the firearms history.
But please don't be mad at me I am having a lot of fun customizing my Mini. I had an ATI stock on it before but I think this platform has too much mystique and history to turn it into an "AR".
I am thinking about mid-range with a scope, but I will give it more thought.
PS. When I re-installed the factory stock I fell back in lust with her just like I did when I bought her on a whim. My first .223.

if you want it to look like an M-14 EBR
you should check out this sage stock, they make the EBR stock for the M-14 rifle, or the MK 14 EBR here at wikipedia (just to show you if you didnt already know...

the i would suggest you get an accustrut or one of its competitors as an underbarrel support beam that will both enhance accuracy and give it a closer look to an m-14

the SCAR stock, also sold at CLYDE'S ARMORY, is the closest thing you are going to get to making it look like an m-14

there are members at PerfectUnion who have modified the SCAR stock to work with the EBR pull out butt

SAGE does not seem to want you doing it so you are going to have to get out the dremel and do it yoruself (and i dont know how to do it, just seen it done)
a guy over there has an M-14 decked out and a Mini-14 to match it, looks like he spent a good amount of money to get it done too...
