found a good deal on some 62 gr .223, but i'm not sure how well it will work in my 1 in 7 twist Mini-14. Anybody have any experience with this size in their Mini?

ok, i just wasn't sure, the 55 gr don't group worth a damn through a 1 in 7, some will even keyhole at 50 yards.

Well that seems a bit strange. Have you tried other weight bullets in that rifle before?

yeah, I have some handloads that my buddy did with some 70 gr Hornady GMX bullets that work great, but I want to find a lighter weight bullet (and cheaper, the GMX bullets are around $30 for 50) for coyotes and other small game.

i think you're right, a Mini-14 shouldn't be making a sub 1 1/2 MOA 3 shot group at 200 yards
