A couple m1 carbine questions
Hey all! I just picked up a universal M1 carbine which was fitted into a GI stock.
1) I need a barrel band screw. anyone know of a thread pitch or a place to find just the screw? it is the newer style (type 3) with the clamp at the bottom
2) is the barrel diameter too different to use a bayonet lug style barrel band?
3) can i not use a repro folding stock on this? is the receiver that different on the universals?
4) how is the stock escutcheon installed for the recoil plate? this screw does not seem to actually thread into the escutcheon on the recoil plate and I would like to replace both the recoil plate screw and the escutcheon.
