"Horsey Grey" lower receiver project

This thread is for people to weigh in if they are interested in a newly manufactured lower anodized like the old 'Colt Grey' uppers.
Reasons:
*You want to build a retro-rifle with some sort of Colt upper.
*Gene Stoner specified anodizing and that's what you want!
I'm aware (re-edit, since keeping this focused is like herding cats) of Moly-Resin, Aluma-Hyde, Krylon, Metacol, and so forth. I realize that those are not equivalent to one another, and they you can get a very good result from them. But it isn't what I want. I want it made right, in the right color, out-the-door. They have to anodize it anyway - MEGA did some in green...so why not?
I'm hoping that if we can get 100 people we can *edit* alert some of the lower manufacturers that there is enough interest to do a run of grey lowers. This isn't a group buy.
Rank-ordered priorities:
1) A2 forged lower in grey
2) milled to A1 reinforcement specs (def. a limited interest but I'm with you if we can get it.)
3) a slab-sided lower or lower with the mag fence just below ejecton port only!
3) One person wants large-hole FC pin sizes - why, I don't know, but...I'm putting it up there. There is probably not enough interest for this feature. I'd rather the standard GI sizes.

Well I'd be interested, especially if it was milled to A1 specs. I'm not so sure that anyone would be able to (or would want to) do that any longer, but it'd be great if someone was willing. I'd certainly settle for the A2 in Colt gray though.

You are to something good IMHO. I have been budgeting for an A1 carbine build, and keep getting frustrated over the grey upper/black lower scenario. I would prefer large fire control pins. Would prefer Mega gatorless also.

I would be in for one if you can convince someone to make them as A1 lowers.

id be interested in t 2 or 3 early (no mag fence) lowers, small hole receiver type.....the retro look for me.....

I like the idea. My next AR will brobably be a build around an M16A1 upper from buffertech. I'd love a matching lower. I'll live with a two-tone rifle if I have to or refinish if necessary, but I'd prefer a matching lower...

Have you guys tried the dark parkerized gray Alumahyde from Brownell's?
If that isn't a good enough match, they can do a custom color - it just takes a big order (three or four hundred cans IIRC).

Key word was "anodized" - eg they'll be right from the get-go.
