I have an Olympic Arms (I KNOW

) 16" upper that has a heavy barrel contour. I need a smith to turn it down to a govt' profile or something lighter. This upper is for my wife and it makes the gun WAY too front heavy. I would need the lathe work and a refinish depending on the overall cost. I would ship you the stripped barrel. Please let me know how much it would cost.
Thanks guys

Just a correction, any work on a lathe is called turning, not milling. (That would be work done in a mill

)
I'd do it for you for free, but I'm not really comfortable bringing my own gun parts into the shop, let alone somebody else's.
I turned my 16" HB down on my lathe. Dunno what it did to the accuracy as of yet, but I swear I shaved a good 2lbs off the weight of the gun (or so it feels). I would offer up my hack like services, but I lack the equipment to recoat at present. But I would call Todd at Koonce. He is a great guy and you will not be disappointed in his work.

Just thinking.
Say it costs you $20-$30 for the work, maybe sell your barrel and say pay $20-$30 for a lighter one that wouldn't have to be an Olympic.
i was going to say this also Mike beat me to it
but this is gonna be the best way to go
