I'm going to be putting on some Wounded Warrior Project deer hunts on my little farm in Portage County. So far, I have ten participants signed up. They range from relatively young and recovered from their injuries, to older and 100% disabled. All of them are very cool guys and working with them so far has been a very rewarding and humbling experience.
I have a lot of friends, family and complete strangers very willing to help and make donations to get these guys geared up. However, one thing I am looking for are processers and taxidermists that might be interested in donating a job to these guys, in the event that they are successful, and hopefully local to where these guys live.
The participants live in the following areas: Akron, Elyria, Youngstown, Columbus and Cincinatti.
So if you, or someone you know, might be interested in helping out one of these folks, please contact me. I promise you, the experience will leave you with a smile.
With the permission of the participants, I hope to be posting some pictures of their hunts after they happen. I'm going to do at least two archery season hunts, and two or three gun season hunts.
I really commend hoss for the work and effort he has to put into this.
