I'm in Kirkland, and not too excited about the $60+ fees that most of my local shops want. Does anyone still do ~$20 transfers anymore?

Thanks! :)

I want to say DJ's in Bothell was $35 last time I transferred a gun in. But you might want to call and check.

I'm in the Renton Highlands (home based). $35 plus the 9.5% Use Tax on transfers (per serial number). Cash/check or add 3% for CC.

From ads in the November, 2011 issue of the Gun News (WAC):

LowPriceGuns.com
13444 NE 20TH ST, SUITE 1
BELLEVUE, WA 98005
It says they accept transfers from out of state.
"The transfer fees are $29.99."

Pinto's
224 Wells Ave S
Renton, WA 98057
"Call Diana Pinto 253-691-0475"
"Consignment Sales, Internet Transfers"
pintosguns@aol.com
Transfer fee isn't stated. IIRC, in prior ads, it had been $20., but I can't find older issues with one of their ads right now.

I don't have experience with either of these establishments. IIRC, one or more other HTF members had said Low Price Guns was GTG.

Not sure if it will work with your situation. When I purchased an AR from gunbroker, I had the seller break down the rifle, mail me the parts, and mail the lower receiver to the gun store. I paid $35 for the transfer fee and about $12 in tax on the lower receiver. Tax would have been more if they shipped the whole rifle to the gun store.

Just something to think about.

I think the best in the area is Sound Loan in Everett. The first firearm is $15.00 each additional is $7.50. They are located on Wetmore between Hewitt and California. Jeff is a great guy!!

I say if you find a shop that you like, pay whatever they ask. This is a business that is so hard to make good money in. I feel we shoot ourselves in the proverbial foot by trying to weasel down a good shops prices. I am willing to pay another $50 to a dealership I like if it keeps them in business. A display of contrasts - well known Bellevue gunshop VS. Rainier Arms. Both have good selection, both are obviously making money at this. I like Rainier Arms for their practices so they are getting my money. I couldn't give two shits sideways if they charge me a few bucks more. I have an FFL transfer transaction pending with them now, I don't know what they will charge me but I know they will be fair. For all the crap that dealers need to go through ( and I know first hand about that) it's worth it for me to pay them for their work.

Fair enough. But if I have to pay $50 for a transfer, that leaves less money for me to spend on ammo and other stuff in their establishment. Whatever the market will bear.

I actually went with Fall City Firearms. They seemed very friendly and they are only about 20 minutes away.

Thanks for pointing out DJ's! Their prices on transfers are high (raised to $50 I believe) but their shop is great and I will definitely be buying other stuff from them in the future.

Best I have found on the Eastside is: Low Priced Guns. (Bellevue)

$30 and no BS.

I have used them and will keep using them.

No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

I used to use DJs in Bothell, but they raised their prices and aren't what they used to be IMHO. Still another option.

+1 on low price guns for tranfers.

And they have their FFL posted on their site for viewing/download which makes buying a gun from another internet/out of state website very easy. Eliminates the step of depending on your local dealer to call/fax their FFL in most cases as I just provided a link and several sites were happy with that so far.

15 is for long guns it's 20 or 25 for handguns.
