Hello WAHTF,

I am purchasing a Pelican case and am interested in having the foam professionally cut. I have seen some great designs/blueprints for do-it-yourself hot wire foam cutting setup here on AR15.com and elsewhere. However, I do not have the space in my garage to store a nice setup after use, nor the need for the setup after I have the case done. Does anyone know of any local businesses in the Western Washington (Olympia to Everett) area that provides this service? I heard from a good friend that there is a place in Bellevue that may offer the service, but the name of the business is slipping his head right now. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I had my Pelican case done at Foam Rubber City in Kent 1522 Central Avenue South
(253) 852-3644 ‎ Turned out pretty good. Had to take the gear that I wanted to them,They took pics of it and used a router looking machine to cut the holes. Took a couple days.

I did my own with a hot wire foam factory setup and a custom transformer I made. It cost me about $85.00

However, I can do as many as I want now. You definitely have to practice, but it isn't too hard to do yourself.

Nice work, guys! I've always had good luck with an Electric Carving Knife. (get one cheap at Goodwill or St. Vinnie's)

Yeah, it is not out of jail yet. I am still waiting for the tax stamp approval.
