I need help naming my new puppy

He is a 7 week old male black lab pure bred. my girlfriend keeps coming up with lame names. so far the best i have come up with is naming him Nato, in his official paperwork im thinking putting down "seven six two nato" as his official name. any other ideas?

You could try some names with an ethnic background. For example, if the Gaelic for brave, is Casey, that would be a choice. If you have some ethnicity you fancy, then look up names from that ethnicity having to do with a trait that you like.

Weve been calling him bubba, just because thats the first name that I came up with. Girlfriend does like nato. Right now Im calling him shit stain, came home tonight after working a swing shift to a stinky house and a big pile of shit in the kitchen.

Puppies don't have a really developed muscle structure yet, and that includes bladder and sphincter muscles. So, the best things to do is to realize that there are a few things that nearly always stimulate a pup to poop or pee.

right after they wake up
right after they eat
if they get startled
If they get a burst of excitement

Dogs don't understand the smacks with newspapers, or rubbing their noses in errors...all they get out of those things is that their human is angry with them, but they don't understand why. The trick is to always praise them when they do the right thing, and pretty much ignore the bad stuff. I'm not suggesting to watch while he pinches a loaf on the floor...if you see him starting to assume the position, pick him up, and hustle him outside to where you want him to go. Once he goes where he is supposed to, make a big excited deal about it, then bring him back inside. They almost always need to unload urine and feces for a while. After they are older, urination is more frequent than defecation.

If you have only one dog, Dog is sufficient.

Thank you, I think were stuck on the name bubba, my gf has been calling him that for a week and the neighbor says it fits him.
