Checking firearm at border driving into Vancouver, Canada?
... is there such a place to secure a pistol before crossing in from Washington?
ETA: Canada, not Oregon
You can check it into my safe.
But maybe see if a gun shop would hold it for safekeeping for you, or perhaps a PD or sheriffs office?
Pretty sure you can just unload it and secure it according to Oregon's transport regs. Might check ORHTF for those regs.
ETA: methinks I didn't understand the question. Vancouver, BC, Canada, I don't believe there is an option for that.
Which Vancouver? Washington or B.C.?
If you are crossing into OR, you might consider that it is an open carry state... with some notable municipal exclusions:

Crossing into Canada. No.
The hardware store on the American side used to have lockers.
That was a while ago.
Pawn Shop...for a fee.
Right next to the Peace Arch crossing are some railroad tracks you could bury your gun along.
... Thanks for all the ideas and offers, guys
I once remember seeing public lockers that you rent, but seems those are a thing of the past
Guess I'll just leave at my brother's place in Seattle

Its been 10 years, but I left mine at a hardware store there once. They sold guns, I asked, they pulled out a brown paper bag and wrote my name on it. $5 iirc.
this says ace used to do it.

Maybe.
I never did it myself.
My uncle told me the story when he went up there a few years back.
Just announce to the canadians that you are headed north on 5 and have a gun. the guards will abandon their posts and you can just cruise right in. it's in their union contract or some such thing IIRC
Leave it in your little brothers safe.
You might get it back, lol. Don't bring the 10, you definately are sure to "lose" it then!!!!
If the word firearm escapes your lips in question or comment form, stand by to have your vehicle strip searched. You will be left with a pile of belongings on the curb. Fucking cowardly chicken shit foreign cock suckets.

Would the public lockers at bus stations or places like that work? Just put your plain brown bag (with contents of your choice) into the locker. Make sure how often the lockers are cleared out. If they are considered abandoned after 24 hours, that wouldn't work. However, if the locker is good for 72 hours to a week, then it might just work out. I don't think I would want to try that at the airport closest to the border though.

No such places at the border crossings up here.

The
Fairhaven Station in Bellingham is not very far from the border. But I do not know if they have lockers available or not.
You might try Dave's Sports Shop, In Lynden. I'm pretty sure they offer storage.

Its not like the exact same thing would happen heading south into the US......
I understand that both sides have to enforce the laws of their country. What I don't understand is why they have to seem so grouchy, bitchy, angry, or otherwise mean about doing it.
