Best overall gun shops from South Denver to Boulder?
what are your guys favorite gun shops from South Denver to the Boulder area? Looking for great service, friendly, best stocks and good prices. Thanks for any information, I am trying to visit as many shops as I can this next month.
5280 armory is probably THE shop you should be looking for.
The Tanner gun show is going on the last weekend in Jan. so you can probably hit all the shops in one day if you wanted.
Machine gun tours in Lakewood, Make sure to stop and check them out if you like EBR's. Also if you make it to Loveland there is Jensens, and Bear arms in Windsor.
Machine gun tours is pretty good. Every time I've gone to 5280 Armory I've gotten shit service and I'll never go back again.
Thanks guys. I enjoy the Parker gunshops, but none of them seem to have top notch service with people that dont make you feel less than them. I hate that and seem to get it from most local shops.
MW Reynolds (downtown Englewood) for high end shotguns, hunting rifles, and fly gear.
J & J Enterprises in Highlands Ranch. (hell of a good guy running that place)
Jensen Arms in Loveland for "all things tactical" and ammo
Gunsport in Boulder for eclectic selection of you never know. (lots of used guns, lots of guns period)
Bass Pro Shops to see what greedy cocksuckers with ridiculous pricing looks like.
I haven't had any issues with firing line. Prices are a bit on the high side though. J&J is pretty good too although I'm not down there too much. Jensens in loveland is my favorite. All things tactical is right for them. Good for us LEOs too.
Thanks guys. Will definitely check out Jensen's next time I go up to Pawnee. And run by the shop in Boulder.

I just got back from Gunsport in Boulder and loved it. Great shop with some awesome surplus firearms and great customer service.

Lakewood.
MGT for class 3.
Green Mountain, J&J, 5280 for firearms.
Bowers Tactical for parts, accessories and gunsmithing.
My experience.....
Green Mountain Guns - Probably my favorite shop. LOTS of used/consignment firearms. New firearm selection is hit or miss, but their prices are great. Service is good except for one guy there who is just your typical angry at everyone type person.
5280 Armory - Easily the best selection, but prices are on the high side. Most handgun prices are 40 to 80 dollars more than green mountain plus they charge an additional 3% for credit card usage.Service is overall poor. From the owner who is a dick at times (Matt just has zero patience with people and is negative etc.), to a bunch of guys who are OK but don't know too much about firearms, but always have some tacticool comment etc...... Matt's wife Gina and their daughter (guessing) are super nice/helpful though. One guy there really knows his stuff/great counter guy, but for such a busy shop it just doesn't cut it. Everyone is hesitent to make a decision about ANYTHING or answer any questions other than the very simple without refering to Matt or they go to Gina who goes to Matt. This shop has some serious management issues.
If Matt hired someone to run the front of the shop who actually could make decisions/manage/customer orientated etc....., stayed behind the scenes himself, lowered his prices to match green mountain guns and got rid of the credit card up charge, he could triple in size and be THE shop to go to.
MGT - Only been once, great group of guys, small shop with not a lot of inventory, firearm prices where higher than Green Mountain on most items that Green Mountain usually has, good selection and prices on AR "stuff".
Denver guns and ammo - Rock bottom prices (cheapest anywhere), small selection, $20 transfers. Don't expect an upbeat friendly atmosphere, nothing too negative, just very dry, they don't talk much etc..... If you know what you want and they have it, you won't find it anywhere else local for less. This is the shop you go to, to get in, purchase/transfer, get out.
I will definitely have to go check out gunsport.
The Gunroom at Colfax and Carr has some nice stuff. I go in there from time to time and their stuff always seems very helpful.

Once handled a used P226 there a few years ago; and to this day, I still kinda wish I would have bought it.
And that's even despite the fact that I don't really care for DA/SA triggers ...
Anyway - yeah, that's an interesting little shop.
Denver Bullets for mil-surp ammo /commercial ammo and machine gun sales. They will do transfers and special orders for Class 1. They are in the book.

Thanks for the link. I will try to get down there this weekend.
My favorites:
Machine Gun Tours: most knowledgeable/experienced group I've seen in CO. Good selection of class 3, pistols, AKs, and ARs.
Jensen Arms: great selection/prices and most of the workers know what they are talking about
Other good shops::
Green Mountain Guns: normal gun shop. Decent selection/prices but most there are clueless.
Tom and Joes: very small but good guys.
J&J: Nice shop and good service.
Will never return in a million years:
5280 Armory
