I wonder how the permits are going to be numbered. Would it be something unique like how it is for a drivers license? Or will they have their own numbers and be sequentially numbered as they are issued? I know that people would not want to disclose their numbers for privacy reasons, but the permit number would be the true way of knowing who was issued their permit first.

The Urinal has updated their story.

It says Van Hollen issued himself #1. So apparently it literally starts at #1.

They have 18 people doing the work. Their printer can do 1500 per hour.

Must be a number system, the form says if you loose/destroy your card a new one with a new number will be issued.

Then I don't think printer speed will be a limiting factor. But if 18 people are working 8 hours shifts, and can process 4 applications each per hour (seems like a reasonable guess to me), that's only 576 per day. I think many of us are going to be waiting quite a while...
