Need a head count for those attending "FROZEN NUTS II" on Mar. 10th at Shawano
jrpett  [Team Member]

At the request of Parruthead, I'd like to get a head count of those who will be attending. This is to insure that everyone will be well fed. And trust me, if Parruthead is cooking, you WILL BE well fed. I'll let Parruthead chime in with the menu. And of course, I'll make sure the beverages are taken care of. If I can figure out how to do it, I'll throw up a poll.

Speaking of dirty birds...

A woman went to a pet shop & immediately spotted a large, beautiful parrot. There was a sign on the cage that said $50.00, which seemed awfully cheap.

"Why so little," she asked the pet store owner.

The owner looked at her seriously and said, "Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a house of Prostitution and sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff."

The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird anyway. She took it home and hung the bird's cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something. The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said, "New house, new madam."

The woman was a bit shocked at the implication, but then found it kind of amusing.

When her 2 teenage daughters returned from school, the bird saw them enter and said, "New house, new madam, new girls."

The girls and the woman were a bit offended but then began to laugh about the situation considering how and where the parrot had been raised.

Moments later, the woman's husband came home from work.

The bird looked at him and said, "Hi, Collin!"

Any idea how much cash we need to chip in for the food and drink. Or is that based on how many go.

AS FOR THE FOOD
That's a good question! How does everyone feel about it?

Normally I just put a jar out and ask for Donations to cover my costs and any extra I donate.

Fyi I don't think i've ever covered my cost and have always just donated what we've collected...

As for the Root Beer JR Pett has always come though and donated that.. But the Gun Club does have a Soda Machine if you don't like his free Root Beer..

I've always added to the donation jar, but If the donation jar isn't covering costs then we need to have some
sort of minimum charge for the food. Can't expect free food of that caliber. Have to at least cover costs.

THIS!

I guess it comes down to saying what the MINIMUM is after determining the show and going from there IMO.

Mofo-assa, I mean Keith puts a lot of work in.

It's a little early to tell, but I think I'll be making it. I'll probably have a few members of "Team Reaper Tactical" in tow again. As I get things figured out, I'll report back.

Should I bring the pulled pork again?

I will not be able to make this even though I have acquired more than just an AR for shooting. I have a handgun class that weekend, so even though I am going to miss this event I still will be getting a lot of lead down range. I will just have to make sure to make the Roasted Nuts shoot no matter the date chosen!

Have fun everyone and stay safe.

Ok, as of now it looks like there are 23 definitely going and 11 maybes although the maybes don't include multiple groups so I'll round it up to 20. So it could be from 23 to 43.

I suppose I could just post my cost of the meal and then everyone could to their own math.

As far as a whole pig. I don't see that happening due to time constraints this time of year. My buddies wife is due any day now. So I don't think i could get the roaster box.. Although I could just buy my own....lol

I have several Ideas though

1.) Stick with BBQ I could do Pulled Pork sandwiches and beans and a Potato salad (Moinks and ABT's) Cheap
2.) Being its close to St.Pattys would you all be interested in Corn Beef and Cabbage? ( YOU'D ALL BE GUINEA PIGS) more expensive
3.) Burgers and Brats and pretty much same as #1 Cheapest
4.) Frogmore stew. (Think Crawfish Boil with Shrimp ,Anduillle Sausage,Corn and Baby Red Potato's) Most Expensive just due to the cost of shrimp.

Patriot are you still free or do you have a paying gig that day? It would be nice to have your tunes and P.A for range control. If not I have my P.A system

What time are you guys starting and ceasing fire?

I've gotta get up early and bust ass 'til (hopefully) about noon. If I could get there about 1pm and shoot 'til 4:30 or 5 I'm in. Pending that, I voted "maybe".

The last two times it seems to have started around 10 or 11AM. That's when I'll be arriving. We've also shot after sunset so 5PM should be no problem I'd think.

I think that option #1 (the pulled pork) sounds good. Since there is already one starch (beans), maybe swap out the potato salad for cole slaw? I like the southern sweet-sour type. Perfect for BBQ type meats. It's a nice change from the standard creamy type.
