I'm in the market for one.

Starting my first build in a few weeks. Wanted to get to a gun show to actually see the differences in the different lowers, but I've pretty much read that a lower is a lower.

Extrapolate....ZD was willing to work with VAGT to make a custom lower, they might be willing to work with another group that wants a different design. I don't know that they'd do one-off logos as the cost probably isn't worth it. At that point, you might as well work up your own design and take it to an engraver.

Only 1 other WV guy has responded here, so my ? is; Can a VA guy buy a stripped lower in WVa? Or can a WVa guy buy in VA?

VA seems to be a bit stricter with the proof of citizen ship thing.

Nope, federal law only permits transfers of long guns across state lines from an FFL. A stripped receiver is an 'Other' firearm.

My handful is probably about 10 now if the price can get close to PSA's sale price. I've never participated in a group buy before. What do we need to do to get this rolling?

I'm interested. But I am also more interested in quality than just a low price.

I don't mind paying for a quality component. But I have learned my lessons over the years in "false economy". Cheap...... is not all its cracked up to be.

Wife asked me why I was asking her when I checked last time. But I did talk to my local FFL to give me a deal as opposed to paying $25 per lower for the transfer.

local winchester FFL could transfer to martinsburg FFL, maybe us WVers would chip in for a nice steak for the FFL for the hassel

Edit, at $55 id probably take 2

IF! I get approval to do this I'll talk to EFI about doing the WVa transfers. They handled the last WV group buy a couple months ago and they have very reasonable fees.

I'm "talking" with VA-gunnut for approval to proceed.

I have permission to solicit for a VA dealer to do the transfers. Should probably be someone in NOVA.

So who do you VA boys recommend I contact?

I'll contact EFI tomorrow to make sure they are willing.

Then I'll get back with gunnut for final approval. Once granted I'll proceed from there.

Why NOVA? Not everyone in Va is from there... What about Harrisonburg or Staunton? I'm just sayin...

By the time I drive up there and pick them up, I may as well just buy them full price locally. (I live in Christiansburg)

Maybe the southwest VA guys can get something together. If I ride out to NOVA on my bike (which would suck) I could pick up the lowers for the guys down here and make it worth it. I'm willing to do it if there is enough interest.

not sure if this is allowed because you have to be present with ID's and proof of residence, etc, to purchase firearms... HOWEVER, a group trip could be made?

But I am still in favor (if OP is ok with it) to make the transaction a little more central? I'll drive 2 hours, but not 4...
