I bought a Gentex helicopter helmet at the gunshow this weekend and I want to get a custom paint job done it. Nothing elaborate, just something that's feminine while maintaining a nod to it's military heritage. I've considered doing it myself but I don't have the equipment or skill to make it look professional.

Sounds like a good excuse to buy some cheap helmets, paint brushes, and paint. I don't believe it's ever a bad idea to learn a new skill.

air brush

ETA: just not when the helmet is on your head, or it'll become a "hair brush"

In the world of flight helmets there is no such thing as "cheap". I got a fantastic deal of $240 because I batted my eyes a lot lol. Come to think of it that's how I got the awesome deal on the Daisy model 1894 replica Winchester air rifle too.....

Anywho ....I can't afford any more helmets for awhile.

Is this to address the old quote of "life is hard, wear a helmet"?

I was thinking cheap/used/beaten up motorcycle or football helmets. You can still practice on a round shape and the size shouldn't be that far off.
