Not exactly.

Clear Channel is shuffling their stations to try and maximize the K-FAN market share.

All of the usual talk shows were moved to 1130AM and should be showing up shortly on either 102.5 or 103.5 FM. Apparently, the FCC is dragging their feat on the licensing for the FM station.

It sounds like excrement on the AM channel, but at least you can still listen to the usual line-up.

Their facebook page is getting lit up pretty good. Almost no one is happy that isn't a total sports nut.

Settle down, Beavis. It's temporarily on AM 1130 until their license for 100.5 gets FCC approval.

I'm beavis because i don't give a flying fuck about sports,sports,sports?.

KFAN IS FOR IDIOTS WHO REQUIRE CIRCUS AND BREAD AS DISTRACTION.

Oh, btw....maybe they should have locked down the FCC approval before they dropped SHITFAN on us.

I bet the FCC is really hustling on the paperwork also......

IDIOTS.

102.5 is gonna be a joke. 102.5 from Willmar comes in crystal clear all the way to west metro, and I am certain that is the cause of the FCC delay. They can't stomp on other people's signals, so the BEST that the "new" one will ever be is that same crappy inside the 494 loop strength that 103.5 has.

Fuck ClearChannel. Supposedly Chris Baker has said that it was done on purpose by Obama-lovers @ ClearChannel.

No, you're Beavis because your uninformed, juvenile, profanity-laced, all-caps tirade reminds me of something I'd hear from a 15 year old kid in an AC/DC t-shirt. 30 seconds on google would have answered your question.

Couldn't care less what you think about sports...

Not out here, nothing but static, and a little bit of 103.7 classic rock carryover from St. Cloud. If you're in Shakopee, that's a country station out of Mankato.

I did, it sucks compared to what 100.3 FM''s broadcast transmission power/range was. I drive from Savage to Minneapolis on the 35W and 100.3 FM was clear as a bell all the way. Even in my building downtown I could easily pick up 100.3 FM on my MP3 player's radio. Listening to 103.5 FM today the reception on my drive in was sporadic, and even became hard to understand somewhere between the 395 and the crosstown. I had to listen to AM, which sucks and sounds like Rush is talking through a tin can. When my wife and I visit out in-laws in Int'l Falls I could receive decent reception on 100.3 FM way north of the cities. I will wager 103.5 FM won't transmit much north of Minneapolis.

100.3 was easy to pick up at the cabin as well, so I am a bit disappointed.

God, I hate listening to AM these days... MN never adopted C-QUAM either, so, we never even got to hear how "good" it could be. And no factory radio ever came equipped to listen to it either.

Still, I gotta believe this is not just a co-incidence that The One is visiting while KTLK is offline on FM... My tin-foil hat is in full display.

I just talked to KTLK....

They said 102.5 is still being hashed -out, and to try 103.5.

I cannot get 103.5 here.

And KFAN is just a bunch of window-lickers with a combined IQ of about 90.

They have only been saying this was going to happen for the past how many weeks?

I guess I am one of the few people that can pick up both 1130 and 103.5 all day. I usually only listen to KTLK for the morning show anyway.

Yes, but it wasn't clear that they were trying to take it from 100,000 watts to 250 watts. Then "Ooops, we don't have FCC approval, here have 41 watts."

I'm pissed about this too. I can't get any AM station with even close to the sound quality that 100.3 had, and now instead of KTLK I get to hear that freaking pompous windbag Dan Barreiro in the afternoon? It wouldn't surprise me in the least if libtards at Clear Channel did this on purpose

You absolutely did the right thing. The thing is, there's no way they're going to be able to fix it. They shot their whole foot off. They will never be able to run any kind of signal strength on 102.5. Out in our neck of the woods, that frequency is already taken. This is an intentional move to limit the audience to the 494/694 loop. The big shows need to cut ties and let KTLK die off. Then a new station will step in and fill the void. Maybe that awful 107.1 would see the opportunity and become the new conservative talk station.

There is (or at least was when I had XM), but the lineup was pretty different. Still carried Rush and Hannity , IIRC.

whats wrong with Rush??

So my cell phone has FM radio, Pandora radio on it, i plug it into my stereo and it plays music through my truck speakers.

I wonder if i can use the internet on my phone to find some of these stations like XM has ?

If you were going to move a radio channel from one to another, would you not have the channels ready to go? When the time came to move if they were not ready, why would you still go through with the move. I hate this. The 1130 reception sucks even here in ST. Paul, so does 103.5. It fades in and out just driving down Robert street.

For Android users, install an app called TuneIn Radio, you can listen to virtually any station on the planet. Also, I hope you have an unlimited data plan

As Ryan said, your data plan will cost you BIG TIME if you try and listen through your cell phone all day.

I pretty much relied on that station for news as I head into work; if I didn't pick up the :30 news break I'd usually pick up the :00 while parking at work. Now I can't even get reception on either AM or FM on the way in. I barely get reception when I'm at work.

I miss listening to Davis & Emmer on the way home in the morning, too...it's a great show. Way better than Baker's show was, IMO.

I'm quite surprised that they haven't gotten something going properly, its been 4 days and they've been planning this for how long?

You guys act like there's going to be a significant improvement.

According to this: http://streamingradioguide.com/nearby-transmitters.php?stationid=437, 103.5 is a 175 watt station. They want to run 102.5 at 250 watts. Just slightly more powerful, so what you hear on 103.5 is just a tad under what you'll hear when they get it "fixed". Everything else that you can hear anywhere in the metro is a minimum of 43,000 watts (107.1), or 100,000 watts (basically every other station that "seek" stops at)

What size of radio market does 250 watts cover? Let's see where some 250 watt stations operate...
- Redwood Falls
- Brainerd
- Chippewa Falls, WI
- Hutchinson
- Blooming Prairie
- Braham
- Windom

You get the picture.
