New Indoor Gun Range in Middle River (Baltimore Co)
Freestate Gun Range
11500 Crossroads Circle
Middle River, MD 21220
http://www.freestategunrange.com/
Its just outside of White Marsh off Rt 40. I have not gone myself but I've heard alot of good things. you guys have any feedback??
looks promising. We'll be allowed to shoot .223....looks like I'll be trying the place out shortly! and you can shoot from a holster of youre 'certified'.
Can't say enough good about these guys. The range is really nice, very modern set up. When the front is done, I may have to
set up a cot! If you're in Harford cty. east Balt. cty. or NE Baltimore, there's no excuse for not coming by. I've already got my
membership. Come out and support this range!

FreeState is tits.

Not bad - thanks
I've been there a few times since it's opened. Great range, even better customer service. The folks there are great. Definitely check it out !

It is about time that at least ONE range in MD "allows" practice from a holster.
I grew up in Maryland. I've tried out most of the indoor ranges in the central part of the state. All the ranges I tried prohibited or restricted drawing from a holster.
Until I moved to Virginia, I did not appreciate how I was being treated like a child with stupid, unnesecary rules such as "no drawing from a holster."
Ranges elsewhere, including the NRA Range set up in the basement of their HQ off Rt. 66, allow drawing from a holster (no "certification" required).
Guess what? It causes no more problems than any other shooting-related gun range activity. I won't say it has never, ever caused a problem; fact is: the only way to eliminate ALL such problems is to prohibit shooting & turn in all your guns to a museum someplace.
Furthermore, if you think this range's policy goes too far, consider that "constitutional carry" states allow all who lawfully own a handgun to carry that handgun concealed (and not, the streets do not run red with blood as one might imagine). Point is: there are very different views of gun rights and what constitutes safe gun handling in other parts of the U.S.
I mean no disrespect to my brothers behind the lines in MD; I only wish more gun owners in the state would see the deficiencies (such as being told you are incapable of safely drawing from a holster) in addition to the need for political change & thus would become active in MSI or other groups of you own choosing.
...
I just got back from Freestate.
You're gonna love it. Go there and shoot.
Join as a member, the place is great now and has room for expansion.
...
You can shoot your AR there and your AK's.
Let me say that again. You can shoot your 7.62 x 39mm rifle at this indoor 25m range.
...

I thought their rules said 5.56mm only?
Straight from the horses mouth.
No 308?
No .308.

Part of the AGC cost is being yelled at by asshole(s)

Funny I've never been yelled at. Maybe someone is doing something (REALLY) wrong? Especially as the asshole RO is no longer there.
I've been going there three times a week.
Shooting so much I broke the hammer pin on the host lower for my ST-22.

Stopped by today to check it out as well as get a price on a gun. The employees were great to talk to and very friendly and helpful. I hope to go back soon and actually shoot there.
As far as the 7.62 question, the gentleman today told us it was allowed.
...
Blast away with your M67, I do.

The recoiless rifle or the grenade?

The Yugo ammo that does not have a bi-metallic jacket.
But a case or the gernades would come in handy.
Can't use them at Freestate, steel jacket.

I went there wednesday- no steel case ammo. Not just jacket or core, no steel case anymore. :(
I stopped in there today. Great range and even friendlier staff.
The prices on their guns are pretty damn good too.
I will definitely go back and I may be buying a membership.
I give it a good solid "10"
I highly recommend Freestate. It's the nicest indoor range I've ever been to. The staff is nice, and their prices on guns aren't bad either. The best part is that you can shoot AR's indoors! The blast from my brake is hilarious when it makes targets in adjacent lanes flutter. Yeah, I'm that guy

I've shot Hornady steel case ammo there, wolf wasn't allowed though. They check ammo you bring in with a big magnet, if the bullets are magnetic, you aren't allowed to use them. Anyone know why exactly? I imagine it has something to do with damaging the backstop?
So anyone going to the Zombie Apocolypse next Friday night at 9?

All I know is the new kid behind the counter is getting on my nerves with the ammo check every time I go in. I go in every week and he should know by now I only bring brass cased, and that I'm a member.

Nice range for sure! They put on an excellent event tonight, sorry so many of you guys missed it.
We were whackin' zombies left and right.
Just checking in Colonel, since you said you hadn't seen me on the board for awhile.
Yeah, the zombie shoot was pretty cool. Makes you realize that you need more low light training.
I was at the range on a dead Sunday night about a month ago.
Turned out all the lights and shot my G21 (Trijicon sights) by nothing but the glow of the exit signs.
The group wasn't bad but it sure emphasized a COM technique.

I'll have to go with you sometime with my G19, I haven't shot it using the Tritiums in a few years.
Go up there for pistol firing being that it's 2 minutes away, enjoy the place as far as indoor ranges go.
this was my experience
youtube
sorry about the sound track!
