need a gun safe moved about 1/2 mile in southern md
anybody have the tools i can rent or borrow to do this or willing to do this for me. i can pay you or swap you some ammo.
safe weights about 1400lbs empty i believe. its a fort knox. only step is small partial step coming out of current location. so the safe is coming from a ground level slab to another ground level slab about 1/2 mile away.
i need to get this done within a week or so but the sooner the better. i am available this weekend.
When I had to move my safe, I found some piano movers to move it. They made it look like nothing, especially when they had to take it down some steps. The two safe companies I called wanted some outrageous amount to move it.
LaPlata Mill and supply rents moving dollys, Yor any well upplied storage place may have one or u-haul may have them as well ou will need a large refridgerator dolly. .it looks like a very large hand truck. I got one from work to move my $500 LB safe and I was able to move it by my self.
When you move your safe you should take the door off, this will take off several hundred pounds and make moving a little waser

ricky...i was at laplata mill and all they had was a small hand cart that at best would be an appliance dolly. nowhere near what could handle this size safe. they didnt have anything else i could use for the job either.
so at this point im still looking. if someone can help i will be glad to take them shooting with some class 3 stuff on private property
