How is this show compared to the central indiana gunshows circuit (Crown Point, Lafayette, etc.)?

It's overly crowded, overly priced, and overly hyped, just like most shows.

I've been 4 or 5 times in the last couple of years. The majority of the time there is a HUGE line to get it. I've spend anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour just to get in the door. I think once I might have had to wait less than 5 minutes. There is only one commercial dealer that actually sells guns, and a handful of private tables set up. A lot of crap tables. The quality of walk-ins isn't great, mostly fudd type shotguns/rifles.

The only "deal" I've seen there was a Russian SKS for $250, which my friend took home. The only thing I've ever bought was a Streamlight PT2L (which ended up not working, even after two trips back to the factory, but that's another story) and a chocolate turtle each time.

Unless you're trying to sell something as a walk-in or looking for something specific that could possibly be there, I'd pass.

The best local show that I've had luck with was Crown Point. I'd probably rank the shows along these lines :

-Crown Point
-Shipshawana
-Porter Co. (Valparaiso)
-St. Joseph Co.
-
-
-Michigan City
-
-
-LaPorte (which was an absolute joke)

Nothing in particular. I may take my M&P and or AR over there and see if I can get rid of them, and buy a chocolate turtle and or some jerky sticks.

Don't think I'll be going can't walk that far with a broken leg or I would be on it. I have always done good at the show. Have sold a few things but have got some killer deals on stuff comming in the door. SAome of the dealers are a little pricey but you find that at all the shows. They have some of the best food if you like to eat.

There are some very good gun shops in NWI. Those shops are my gun show.

I always had good luck at the Valpo show. The Expo is a nice setup. There are good deals to be had––-you just have to put in the time and effort.

I guess I'm going after all-cabin fever.

I didn't find anything there for me. I waited a half an hour to get in, I was out in 20 minutes. It wasn't a bad show, but the crowd control was awful. One kid accepting the admissions and one guy stamping hands while hundreds of people were outside. Poor planning, overcrowding. No negative reflection on the dealers at all-the sponsors of this show seriously have to rethink the crowd control, imho.

As Glox stated - typical Valpo gunshow. I guess there's nothing else to do on a Saturday morning in February except pack yourself in like a sardine.

On a positive note - picked up a really nice 1945 Izzy m44 from a small dealer in the back room. Original finish with nice gray patina - but absolutely no rust or pitting (I love that old battle-worn look!) Mismatched - but no electric pencil cross outs. The bore looks like new. $160 OTD - not a smoking deal or anything, but I'm happy.
