Greg,

Thanks for your good training, this made Fox 2 news.

A burglar attacked me in my home and demanded money while holding MY XD40 loaded & chambered. That is the only night I forgot to take it to bed. After getting body slammed (broke 3 ribs) I knew I was dead, so I rolled over & got my Glock, racked & fired. Police say it was a good shoot. I was groggy when woke from a sound sleep and had milliseconds to make my decision. Thanks to your training I got one in him. I am still freaked out over it & feel even worse that I shot him but if I didn't I would be dead.

Several channels wanted my interview but being still freaked I said 'No comment'. Now I feel I should have done the interviews & told the news that without your training and methods I would be dead. So thanks for your excellent training course. Now I gotta go to Hillsboro with my bill of sale & try to get my guns back.

Link works this time

Glad the home owner made it out alive and did what he had to do. As you said, if it was me and i just got slammed and had ribs broken, I wouldn't be aiming for the leg.

I read the article it sounded as if the police did not want the home owner shooting someone and they had to determine the state of mind of the property owner.

First comment picked up on that too. Jefferson Country PD is usually pro gun so that surprises me to see that in the article.

Why the hell does he have to take his bill of sale to get his gun back? That's bs

According to the first link:

"Jefferson County Sheriff spokesman Capt. Ron Arnhart said no charges will be filed against the property owner. He said in a shooting like this police must determine the shooter`s frame of mind.

‘You are going to have to articulate your actions on why you acted the way that you did,’ said Arnhart."

I am glad that the homeowner prevailed. However Capt. Arnhart is ignorant.

Fixed. I believe in any shooting you have to prove the gun is yours and legal. Also, in this case the robber took one of the owner's guns. So when the cops came by and saw the owners gun in the robbers hand, they will assume it's the robbers and not the owners.

WTF.....bill of sale. I might be able to scrounge around and find a half dozen receipts for guns that I may not even own anymore and bill of sale...yeah that's not happening. That's some BS right there.

I'm not 100% sure on that. Why I said it like that. Maybe someone who is more familiar with the law can straighten that out.

Exactly. This is a total crock of shit. They confiscated his property, if they think it's illegal or stolen it should be up to them to prove it, not the other way around.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with law....just department policy and typical JBT bullshit.
