It looks like I will be coming to the Beale St. Music Festival next weekend thanks to winning some 3 day passes yesterday, so I need some intel on campgrounds in the Memphis area so I don't have to kennel my dogs. The last time I pulled my camper over there I wound up at a dump of a KOA that has since lost its KOA affiliation, and don't want to repeat that. My backup plan is the KOA in Marion, as I have stayed there before and know it is GTG - safe, quiet and dog friendly. It doesn't hurt that it is only a few miles from my buddy's place either so a cold beverage and relaxing pool can certainly be had - and the drive in to Beale St area is certainly manageable from there. Can any locals provide some insight for me re: local campgrounds any closer than Marion?

This puts you approximately 20 miles from the concert. I've never stayed there but driven past it a bunch. It looks just like the pictures - nice and clean.
There is a RV park at the Agricenter.

This is going to likely be the closest.
If you're looking to stay outdoors, like on a lake, there's Hernando Point. Not sure what they get in terms of daily fees, but Jellystone is right up next to a pretty busy road (Hwy 51).

The only downside with this is that the park is near Germantown Parkway and it's busy.
Again, not sure of fees on it either.
The only KOA in these parts I know of went out of business
years ago.

I would do this. It'll be worth the drive not to deal with the madness

I concur. Anything else is too far. The one in Coldwater, Ms is OK. Arkabutla is OK. My front yard is free but 35 miles from Beale.
To camp inside Memphis ( Mckellar) puts you in Mogadishu or ghey town.
