I would be if I wasn't match director for the .22lr match at maury co. We had to have our dates for this year in by nov of last year . I did apply to have the sep match moved to nov so that I could at least make it to one 3 gun out there this year .Have fun , they have some good ones there .

Hope the 3-gun match turned out to be better than the steel match did.

The match went very well. Looked like rain and had a few sprinkles but otherwise the range was dry and turned off sunny by mid day.

All the stages were pretty straight forward but did have options that forced you to make a plan. 4 stages with 2 guns and all 3 guns on one stage. A total of 29 shooters and just over 160 rounds (minimum). I did OK for an old guy that does not practice enough (ok...rarely at all anymore) but I beat a lot more people than beat me and all my guns ran without a hiccup.

Many times this alone will ensure one a finish in the top 50%, IMO.

Glad to hear the range was dry. When we shot the rifle match 2 years ago SOME nimrod had graded off ALL of the top soil 2-3 days before we got 3-4" of rain. You can imagine the depth of the mud on virtually every stage except for one................

I've not shot their range since then.

I still managed to have fun that day . The shoes that I wore weighed 20# each at the end of the match though .

Yeah, it was good training for bad footing, IMO. OTOH, think how nice it would've been had they not graded off all the top soil?

Big John wasn't enamored with us getting into his truck to come home with 20lbs of mud on our boots either.
