Davenport Gun Show
Yeah, its a Big Bore show... so there's a $5 entry fee. Its at the mississippi valley fair grounds. In the past there has been a fairly large number of booths, no real deals that I've seen, but that seems to be par for the course anymore. I thought I'd post this up and see if anyone was going to be around.
I may go Saturday... like you said no deals really. more of a browsing show to me
Looking at Friday night but I have a full day of things to do so may not make it. If not then Saturday afternoon.
I plan on going Friday afternoon. I know there are no real deals at this thing but sometimes you can haggle a good deal.
Also sometimes I dont mind paying the bit extra to have the item now and not have to wait...instant gratification

Dealers are selling everything they can get their hands on. Ammo prices are up across the board. What kind of "deals" are you expecting?
I plan on being there first thing Saturday morning (9am). If anyone is interested in meeting up shoot me a pm.
On a side note there is a resturant with some darn good ribs just down the road from the fair grounds... mmm ribs...

The Circle Tap, they serve a half or whole rack of ribs on a lunch tray with a ton of fries...
I'll probably be there Saturday, may be working at the show... we'll see!
I went on Friday night.....looking for some AKs to add to my collection that I didnt have yet and well came home empty handed.....
This time I saw ever more inflated prices than usual or at least I perceived it because I was looking for particular things.
I was looking for a few thingsa tto. I saw the usual mix of prices. I actually saw a few pretty good deals just not for anything I was looking for in particular. But then i was looking for items that sell well so that left me pretty well out on prices. I did find an interesting pistol that I almost bought. It was a Bersa BP9CC. There new carry entry. Relatively light and on the smaller side. Fairly thin, striker fired, decent trigger. My biggest hang-up was it being a Bersa, although I was drawn to this one, and being a 9mm. I was looking for a .380, have enough calibers to feed, and I have never been a fan of 9mm.
I didn't mind spending 6 doll hairs to walk through the two buildings and browse, good way to kill a few hours. I thought it was neat that Oak Hill gun club was there starting and renewing memberships. My dad did find the new Sig Misquito that my mom just had to have, and traded a Ruger Mark III Hunter in good condition straight up for it, I thought he did pretty good on that. We tried to get her to learn to like the Ruger, but she really liked the way the Sig fit her hands...heck, whatever gets her shooting and involved!
