I have a romy parts kit sitting here in a box for a Khyber pass build. Just wondering if anyone knows more about it than I do in the DSM area. Build party? I have a Nodak Spud receiver with an AK Builder parts kit with rivets. Still need to get a FCG and a few other odds and ends I'm guessing. Just looking for some expertise in riveting jigs and assembly. Plan to have it sent and Parked somewhere at this point.

Oh by the way, first post in the Iowa forums from being a long time lurker.

First off welcome to the IAHTF! There are some AK builders around here but I haven't heard much from them lately...koyotejager you still out there?! I know I wouldn't mind building a kit or two as I think I have 4 or 5 various NDS receivers and around a dozen or so various AK/RPK parts kits. If there were more time before the event on Saturday there may have been time to line up some AK tools and jigs to build up an AK but there's always next time.

we're bringing in all the tooling, jigs, etc. to build from flats and the ground up... while i'd like this to be up and running in a couple months, i think late summer is a bit more reasonable. my goal is to have a fall or winter AK clinic allowing for ground up construction...

Trongarm?

My suggestion would be to attend the build clinic this Saturday and chat with Septic. I can talk with you there too.

Yeah I'd like to come to the build but unfortunately my weekend is pretty full up. I work around 60-70 hours a week so my weekends are like that sometimes. I have a cousin in MO that has a few basic jigs and a press, but we both need some training on the proper ways to rivet. The Klacker is next on my list as its just all sitting in a box. I'd rather have it shooting so I can bury it in the back yard for when I need it.

JTrout do you have pics of your Khyber build?

The one AK I'd like to build is the MG-47 as I have most of the parts needed to make a beltfed AK-47 except some various pieces of metal and the ability to do it.
