Thinking about spending a day or two in Omaha. Planning on checking out the U.P. museum and De Soto wildlife refuge.
You guys recommend anywhere to stay or other things to see?? Stay Downtown or in the Old Market??

Well downtown and Old Market are one and the same pretty much.
New hotels , Embassy and Courtyard in La Vista , right off the interstate and about 5 minutes from Downtown.
The only reason I mention this is because they are both almost always empty and they are brand frikking new.
Might be a deal to be had.

Maybe the Aerospace museum ??
Some baseball ??
The Zoo ??
haha, I don't know this town bores the heck out of me.
Been here too long.
Oh yeah, That particular hotel is right next door to Cabela's :)
SAC Museum. I haven't been there in years, but I loved that place as a kid.
De Soto is kind of meh. It's a bit of a drive for 45 minutes worth of stuff. I've only taken the time to look around while buying a year pass for fishing.
I'd check out the Durham Western Heritage Museum and the Zoo.
Downtown is pretty much the Old Market. I think most people who visit Omaha would be better served to stay across the river at one of the casinos and then venture over to Omaha.

stay away from areas of concentrated markers, mostly NE Omaha. IA carry permit is recognized in NE, I suggest carrying whenever possible in Omaha.
