So, what is there to do in Hutchinson, KS?
I'll be going there on a business trip the week after Thanksgiving.
Any good eating spots I should try?
Anything else?
It sure does get boring sitting in a hotel room.

Off the top of my head:
Roy's and Danny Boy's for barbecue.
Anchor and/or Anchor Away for Mexican. The former for Mexican with beer, the latter for take-out or drive thru.
Airport Steakhouse for steak.
Sacks 5th Avenue for home style burgers. Bogey's is OK, but I prefer Sacks.
Spangles for chain burgers. Considerably better than the national brands in my opinion.
Carl's Bar for pub grub and extensive (for Hutch) beer assortment.
Firehouse Cafe for breakfast. Large breakfast.
Carriage Crossing in Yoder for breakfast, lunch and dinner. With butter. Lots and lots of butter.
Shooter's Supply in South Hutch for guns. Lots and lots of guns.
Cosmosphere for space stuff. Lots and lots of space stuff. Really. Some neat stuff there.
Local gun club is pretty much tango-uniform for program activities this time of year.
dont forget, wichita is 45 min away
You could check out the salt mines museum. It is pretty cool. A 2nd for the Cosmosphere, also cool.

I haven't been updated on the job yet, but I think the place that I'm going is/was a salt mine that's being used for underground storage.
I think I'm just going to check the contractors work or inspections.
We have lots of salt mines here, in south Louisiana, too.
It does sound pretty cool, I may have to check it out.
Another vote for the Cosmosphere
Definitely hit the airport's lunch buffet if you get a chance. Great food!
And yes, come on down to Wichita if you get really bored!
Glad to hear that Shooter's Supply is still around, I miss that place.
The Kansas Cosmosphere is a must see.
if you're here on Monday you have to stop in and have a steak at the Polo. best one in town by a long shot.
Thanks for the input guys. I just found out I'm going to be landing in Wichita and driving to Hutchinson.
I also just found out that the head big shot from our Houston office is meeting up with me in Houston and flying to KS with me, so I don't know how much screw around time I'm going to have now.
I'll definitely tell him that I heard of a few good places to get a bite to eat!

Yep your going to UVS underground vaults and storage, the others gave you good advice, definitly check out the cosmosphere
it gets a lil boring for those of us that live here, but you can walk up and touch a SR-71 which I think is real cool.
have a good one
speed
Well, I got a chance to try some of Hutchinsons fine Mexican cuisine today. I was riding with some of the guys from the plant, so I couldn't choose where I wanted to go.
I ate at El Patrillo, and man, that was some good shit! I had the Pollo Bandito.
Now I'm stuffed on Applebees and Michelob. I better get some sleep, tomorrow is going to be a long day.
It looks like I'm going to be flying back home tomorrow evening, so I wont have a chance to try any other places.
