Texan coming to Geneva Suisse - Any gun related must see sights?
Bonjour (Howdy) Europe crew.
I have a business trip to Geneva next week (10/03/08), was wondering if you could help a Texan locate what gun related sights exist in or around Geneva.
Are there any gun shops or shooting clubs in the City that a Texan could visit?
Beyond gun related items, what other things should I plan to do with the limited free time I have after business meeting is finished (Friday and Saturday are open).
Merci Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,
I'm not living near Geneve, but you can vist the forum :
http://feulibre.forumactif.com/index.htm
this is a Swiss forum about guns. A lot of member are around Geneve, introduce yourself and I'm sure one of them will be happy to meat you.
I'll post a message on this forum too for you.
Have a good trip.

Howdy !!!

I read the message from Max on Feu-Libre !
My name is Patrick, 27, and I am in Geneva... And guess what ??? I have a reasonnable number of guns

, including one AR (M4) if you are looking for that precisely !
I could have you visit some gunshops, and we could go shooting something if you are willing to..
But, I still don't know if my usual shooting range will be open.. What day do you plan to have free time exactly, and what kind of shooting would you like to do ?
I know for sure that we can shoot indoor (up to 25m) in 2 places ... as for outside shooting, as i told you, I am not sure yet.. it will depend on our shooting range. But if it would be open, we can have fun at 25, 50 or 300m... I could have you try our old K31, or maybe our new Fass90 (SIG550) military guns... but also "american things" , from the Venerable Colt Walker to the M4, through 1911's and M1 Garand...

(I won't make the list of all posibilities here and now, but in PM, why not !
Just PM me your email, or MSN and we can work this out ! Maybe I can also bring other people with us.. we are at least 10 here in Geneva from FeuLibre (Free to Fire) ! and all ages, from 22 up to nearly 60

, and they also have a reasonable amout of guns...

It's up to you now ! (ps: if you are blonde, 170cm high, with average cute breast, it would be great..! if not... well, life's a motherfucker...
Shung
Woohoo that sounds like a good time.
The dream rifle over here is the Sig 550, so few were imported before our 1989 import ban. When and if they come up for sale over here it is for $9K or more.
The Swiss guns have a mythic aspect to them for many of us here. It would be nice to visit with your crew.
Thanks
HKAg
Happy shooting, guys...

Just back from Switzerland, what a trip.
It was great to meet you Saturday. It was a real thrill to shoot the Swiss STGW 90, 57 & 31. Your M4 set up is real sweet too. Love that ACOG, might seriously have to get me one now. :^)
Thanks for explaining the Swiss laws to me. I plan to write an article or two on the topic for our newsletter local club and state organization.
thats all for now need to get to bed back to US time zone & work tomorrow
Thanks Again Shung!!!!

It was my great pleasure ! Happy to see that you arrived safe and sound !
I really need you to post some pictures (or send them to me via email. All the guys here want to see the texan shooting swiss toys !!! I was so heavy of guns on saturday that I decided I'd do without my Nikon D70.. and now I regret it.
I was reading a university prospectus, one of the Unis I'm looking at has four-week program in Geneva over the summer. Hopefully, I can locate a kindly Swiss shooter to let me shoot your guns.

Hey Aussie mate !
Leave "down-under" and come to see us here ! I'll take you on the shootin' ranges ! no kidding!
Back in 2000, I was in Perth for 6 months... Actually it is where I got my awful english..

I owe you something

Very nice of you, sir...

Thanks a lot too, Yggyort, it's nice to know !!

And allow me to introduce myself as well. I'm in the Sunshine State (Florida), down in the S.E. portion of the State, not too far from Miami.
If any of you European guys are down this way, by all means, let me know.
I'd love to get together and meet some of you...so please get in touch. The hospitality you've shown here is truly appreciated and I'd be happy to do the same if you visit the States.

It's like Couchsurfing for gun owners

.
If any of you go to San Francisco or Napa Valley I can show you what we're still allowed to have in California

.
PS, any pics of the event?

You could take a trip up to Oberndorf and check out the HK factory. I think they still give tours.
There is a good waffen museum there also.
St Pierre and the Reformation Museum. That is if religion and history at all interest you.
Guys.. HKAG came here months ago.. ;)
btw, we went to the cathedral..
