I started this new topic because the other goes offtopic then...

first to the statement of Tony: thx, i'm happy with my HPS/STI and of course with my Colt M4 too :) but there are many more ;-)

short story about me. my father started pistol shooting ca. 25years ago. Didnt do any hunting - IPSC - whats this shit??!! *g*
my dad liked and likes his guns very much, every piece is very well cleaned oiled and "loved". i think i got this from him. when I was 6 or 7 years old every day i got on dads nervs and asked him "Please go down range - I want to clean them..." 2 years ago after i have done the military 6 months *gg* in austria i was finally able to get the WBK. and that is more difficult then you guess. visit a course - there you learn not to shoot in your own legs :P and have fun with a psychologist. you feel like a criminal somehow... and therefore you pay ca. 260 euros -> for the WBK only. *rolleyes* BUT: i was a happy one - finally held the WBK in my own hands :)
first pistol of me was a CZ 75 TS tuned by German gun factory Frankonia. it was a good one - about 750g trigger pull :) but somehow i didnt get that happy i wanted. so i saled it. now i have the baby i wanted. the "Edge" 2011 system of STI or respectively HPS (German). there are worlds between in shooting this or the other. try it !

in my fathers and my save are now: S&W .22, Colt M4 .22, Luger 08, Glock 26 9mm, Sig 210 9mm, S&W 10auto, 2x HPS 9mm Match guns, S&W .357Mag and S&W 44Mag

i'm really busy at the moment so pics will follow.

now back to topic: COLT M4

first of all i like it. only the trigger is heavy (4kg). i already said i shoot the RWS target with no problems. main problem i had, was the iron sights. in our shooting cellar (it's not so easy in austria to shoot under the free sky) the light is really crap. and i had some problems with the so called "Lochkimme". now i have an aimpoint and it's fine :) already have 6x40 scope but the false mounting :( next week i hope i get the right.
the M4 is accurate - the main problem is the heavy trigger pull, i guess.
barrel and bolt catch are made out of aluminium (!) i hope it does the job in the future too for .22lr....
i would like to have a other pistol grip for my shooting hand. someone know, if the real AR grips fit ?

i will stop here - the rest does the forum *g*

Hiya Andy & Shortyone,

I like my GSG5 way to much at the moment to even think of getting something else.

Have the Sig 552's surfaced on the US market yet?

Mark "Streetfighter" and Wayne "Chiefie" were not over joyed at the example's that were being displayed at the IWA. My opinion was to much money for to little gun but if our new found Austrian friend would like to include a range report and do a little write up about his experience's with his Colt/Umarex including lots of picture's I could be convinced to change my mind.

When are you coming to visit your in-laws again, you can pm me here or on facebook.

I was hoping to come back in September, but it may not be until the IWA.

No 522s here yet. There was only one in existence when we looked at it Tony. Are they released in Germany yet?

I couldn't trade my GSG for a Colt or Sig .22...........It's too much fun.

I have seen tons of the Colts sold over here, but haven't heard any feedback from the local boys in OR or WA.

These just made it over to here. I took this picture at SHOT.

Hey Andy,

Great you got the little .22lr Gblock with Walther P22 user elements. We haven't seen the Sig 552's yet either .

My GSG5 is the great little fun gun that I really enjoy shooting .

I'll see you at the IWA then, BTW we'll need to have a chat beforehand as Wayne hasn't been around recently.

Take care and my regards to your family.

hey, guys!

i'd come home from the match 1 hour ago...weapons cleaned first of course ;) *g*

unfortunately i cant show you some range reports/pics - i only can tell you. in this case i must say the Colt M44 .22 is damn accurate up to 25yards. i heard it also will be on 50 yards. i didnt shoot longer distances yet. and until now without a scope, only aimpoint. but in the AR threads "pistol and rimfire calibers" there are some impressions an pics, i guess.

i'm so pissed - i cant tell you...
my scope has the false mounting (need picatinny) - i havent known, is my first rifle....and our gun shop hasnt even 2 different picatinny mountings now i have to wait another week to play with my scope, damn it... austria and weapons - there is nothing worse on earth

but for me its kind of ironic...tomorrow i'll go to the supermarket and book a bottle of milk in advance...*pfff*
