Silver Bullet Rockaway, NJ
On saturday I bought a .22 Henry mini-bolt for my sons to use on the range this past weekend. The rifle is dead accurate BTW. Anyway, i bought it at the Silver Bullet Gun Shop. I highly recommend this shop and Frank for the friendly service and good product selection. The shop had exactly what I wanted and there is something to be said about the experience of walking into a gun shop, looking around picking up a couple of rifles and walking out with a decent rifle. There were other .22's I could have bought also.
The selection of AR was good, and I think the prices were fair. I didn't see any colts but there were Stags, an Olympic Arms, i think a mossberg and several others. I'd say about 10 ARs in all. He had 2 MP-5 style .22's(mossberg, ATI) for about 500 each..
My NICs check took about 25 mins. and there was one AK style rifle hanging right about the register for $475 I asked if I could take it down and check it which he said was fine.. I gave it a good "fondling" and pulled the bolt back a couple of times.
I also had an old musket with me that I bought at a garage sale that I asked for Frank's opinion on what the heck it was. He gave it a good look over with a mangifiing glass for forge marks but didnt find any. He did say it was legit though.
While I was there one or two guys(seemed like regulars) came in just to shoot the bull and they were friendly as well.
After the transaction was complete, Frank offered to help me carry my stuff to the car since I also bought a heavy ass .22 spinner dualing tree.
I have to say I had a decent Saturday morning at a gun shop and a great day on the range on Sunday.
I'm going back for that AK if one of you guys don't snag it first.
Franks a good guy. I have been going there for years.
If he doesn't have it he will order it for you. I purchased a rock river 9mm AR from him.
Took about 7 months to arrive. That was just after the election.
There are exceptions to everything.
My experience there being one of them.
I've been going to franks for 16 years now,has always set me in the right direction with advice ,selection, price and knowledge. However,If you're not of good character or act like a know it all idiot ,you'll be lucky if he even sells anything to you.
bought my first 2 guns from him. nice guy and willing to work with u in price
I had the pleasure of meeting Frank this weekend. I passed by to look at the AR's he had in stock and even though I didn't find the one I wanted, he was very helpful and talked to me about the specs I was looking for and even recommended a few to look at. His shop has a lot of accessories in stock that others didn't so I'll be visiting him again when the time comes.
I did forget to ask about the price of ammunition. Anyone know if he has competitive prices on .22 Stingers, .40 cal and 556/223?
