Looking for a Para USA handgun
I have been looking into getting a PARA USA Companion LDA but cant seem to find one anywhere. Does anyone know of a store that has one in stock. Found one but it would have to be shipped here from texas and i would rather give the sale to a local guy before going out of the area.
I have an LDA, my partner had a P14, we both do not carry them any more. Mine had issues with the safety, they never returned email or phone calls, Other than crappy support and some quality problems. Oh and he sent his back for repairs when it stopped working....but they lost it....I trust my Beratta PX4 or glock much more

Heard that about the safetys. And how the hell did the loose a gun?
While I don't think I'd ever buy a double action 1911 (it's like getting a 4 cylinder dodge viper

), I can't say I'd ever opt for a para, not over the other firms that are putting out much better production guns.

Reason behind the para LDA is it will be my off duty weapon and department guidelines says all guns have to be double action only. The Para LDA is the only "1911" that is made with a double action only trigger

Unless I'm mistaken Colt has a few DAO models?
Your mileage might vary but- given a choice between a para LDA and a glock of any kind? I'd pick a glock. I hate glocks, I've shot them, I've never owned them and I never plan on buying one. I have a custom 1911 that I love dearly. But given a choice between a glock and a para, I ditch the para.
In your shoes? I'd consider an HK45 in a double action only variant.

Unbelievable. We have now gotten to the point in this Statist Commonwealth where the man dictates technical features of LEO off-duty weapons?!?!

Yeah
"cocked and locked is too dangerous", but hey lawyered up 20lb triggers is safe for those downrange of said hard to accurately shoot guns

I carry a Glock 23 with Glock 22 mags as back up.....I have carried other guns, but my department says I can only carry one gun. The thing about the glock is I am compatable with other cops. They need a spare mag, I have it. And I always carry spare mags,a few of them.
The Colt DAOs (New Agent) are not out yet. I also wanted a DAO .45.
I inquired last year by calling them & they told me last quarter 2011.
Here we are in 2012 still waiting....
Good luck with your hunt.

I checked into them and they really don't appeal to me that much. Looked at a custom glock made by glock vector industries and it was amazing but it was $2000. not a glock fan at all but i would have bought that in a second
