ATV riding on the Red River
Has anyone rode the trails at the hwy 79 bridge between Wichita Falls,Tx and Wuarika,Ok? Supposed to be a great place to ride. Lots of smooth sand up and down river.
25 years ago I rode there, don't remember much about it now though
Watch out for quicksand. It's fun to mess around with but can kill you. In high school we were messing around with some off a cut-off sandbar and rather than walk in and wiggle, one of my friends jumped in feet first. He lost his boots and damn near lost his life. Took 6 people to get him out. Alone or with a buddy, not sure someone could get themselves out. Tons of fun though out on the sandbars. In most places, the river and the sandbars are on the Oklahoma side, so Oklahoma rules, fishing laws and such apply. Have fun!
