Southeast Houston Folks - Recommend a shooting range that doesn't charge by the gun

I'm in Clear Lake, and a buddy of mine and I have been looking for a good outdoor rifle/pistol range. So far, we've been kind of unimpressed with the ranges around here, so I'm hoping there's a better one within a reasonable drive. Thus far, we've tried:

Texas City Municipal Range - This is a nice facility, but they charge per gun, so the price gets a bit steep if you want to bring more than a single gun. Their rifle lanes don't have those blasted boards across them, which is a plus.

Clear Creek Gun Range - Wasn't too impressed with this one. They also charge per gun, and have boards across both the pistol and rifle lanes that are so low you can barely see under them. The only thing going for them is that they have a 200yd range.

PSC - My boss is a member here, and he's offered to take us as guests. The facility sounds great, but I'd rather not sit on a waiting list forever, unless this range is the only option. Their website says they don't decide how many membership slots there will be until August, and from what I hear, it can take a year or more to work your way through the waiting list.

I guess the other option would be to make friends with someone who owns some land. Any arfcommers out there who wouldn't mind a responsible shooter or two on their property?

Get on the list for PSC. It's a big boy range. They treat you like an adult and let you practice shooting the way you would shoot in the real world.

I'm moving to Ft. Worth this summer for my job, and I'm going to sorely miss PSC. I already know I wont be able to exceed or even duplicate what I'm allowed to do at PSC until I own my own land.

Until you can get a membership there... I can't help you.

I'm a member at PSC and if you want to go just let me know.

Also The Arms Room doesn't charge by the gun, it's $15 per person unlimited guns and time.

Well, that's kind of what I suspected. I am now on the list.

I did see this on PSC's news feed, but I don't know when it was posted. Hopefully, they've lifted the freeze by now.

No New PSC Members

The PSC Board of Directors has voted to close membership. We are not going to allow any new members until further notice. PSC Membership has grown 78% in the last 4 years. It’s time to stabilize at our current membership levels. PSC Board of Directors

Ghetto, I might take you up on that offer. The Arms Room is nice, but I prefer to shoot rifles outdoors (and at more than 20yrds).

Hm, I hadn't heard of them. It would be a bit of a drive for me, but not too bad. Looks like their next new member orientation isn't until September though.

At least you guys have PSC. As far as I'm aware there isn't a decent place to shoot on the north side and no gun clubs. I hate paying per gun.

They are for the next few months. They sent out an email saying the membership has grown so much in the past few years that they have suspended the membership orientations for the next three months.
