If so - does it hold its own in speed against the other glass you see out there ? I'm sure its great past 25 yards , but how is it shooting up close?
Really looking at the new covered turret version :

...me - Funny you should mention it, I just posted a quick mini review here:
Vortex Review Thread
As per my comments there, while I've not had a problem with the PST, I think the capped turrets on the HS are probably the way to go for the sport.
Close up is very good, even in bright sunlight and the reticle black. The other thing that makes this good close up is the eye box is really forgiving....I've not come across a scope that was less picky about head position especially at 1x.
Im the type thats "u sacrificed much in order to get this scope.... You better like it"... But when it comes down to the truth- im sick of it. It just isnt as fast as other scopes and especially red dots. The reticle is too busy, the illumination isnt, and having tactical knobs in 3G isnt necessary and many times has knocked off my zero after a dump barrel or whatever catches ur rifle after running 90mph.
GREAT scope otherwise. Id write more but i think ill just need to write my own review one of these dsys.
