So I finally did my classifier

My wife and I both just started shooting IDPA in late January.
We've found a lot of enjoyment in it, which I'm still a little unsure of knowing how happy she is with a pistol around me
We finally did our first classifier this past weekend.
We both shot SSP. She was high MM in the group and I got into SS (I don't feel I'm there, but the score sheet said I am)
Shot the monthly club match on Sunday and she finished 6/11 and I was 9/12 in class. Nothing to write home about, but I'll write to Arfcom b/c I'm solid with that for as long as we've been at it.
Really appreciate the information shared in this forum and especially by my fellow Georgian shooters for your support and encouragement this year.
Watching the videos around here gives me something to work towards.

Where are you in GA? There are a couple clubs in the Savannah area that I shoot with.

I don't get to Savannah are much, Augusta is normally as far as I get on that side of the state.

cool- i did mine and got the same results earlier this month- sharpshooter, but i think marksman would have been a better fit.
would love to get my wife into it, but i just don't see that happening.
there's idpa in cleveland TN if that's any closer than augusta.

As mentioned above, the Clevelend, TN club puts on a great match. I used to shoot it all the time until I had to move.

All I can say is the guy that taught you to shoot got me in to this addiction and I'm learning a lot from him..
I actually think I'm gonna do the Summer Sizzler match in Manchester Tn next month.
I'm gonna have to check out the one in Cleveland too. I get up there a lot.

Congrats on getting classified! I'm sitting here in the hotel room right now with the wife attending the Carolina Cup. I've been having fun shooting club matches for the last 10 years but once you make the leap to full on sanctioned matches you'll be hooked. My wife shot her classifier in April and her first stage today was clean. She's still testing the waters but knows if she wants to spend more time with me she'll have to shoot with me or load my mags and carry my range kit. LOL, she chose to shoot.
You've got plenty to choose from within a reasonable driving distance, don't pass them up.
