I live in Rochester, and am very interested.
My problem being the self-defense based instruction. As a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Rank one in Muay Thai. What type of combat would be taught? eye gouging, groin strikes ect? Sounds very interesting though. I would just love more information. |

It sounds like it's not so much physical "mano-a-mano combat" (though I suppose there may be some; remember it is a 1-day class though!) as it is working within the confines of the structure to defend your home with a firearm and get you and/or your family out. From the description: Training topics include the Principles of Indoor Combat, Structure Traits & Nomenclature, Indoor Scenarios & Tactical Decision Making, movement methods & tempos, Door Management, Room Entry, Room Clearing, Room Management, Confined Spaces, Halls & Walls, Compound Problems, Solo & Partner CQB, Hardpointing, Crisis Egress, and After-Action Measures. I would expect 90+% of the class to cover moving within the structure with a firearm (blue gun or airsoft) and dealing with indoor structures and obstacles. Feel free to contact PFC however if you have questions, and post the response here. |

Hi everyone, here is some more info about what to expect with the TIDE class...
Conceptually, we are presenting modified Indoor Combat/CQB principles, tactics and techniques derived from our restricted programs. This material has been tailored to apply to anyone who is armed and must defend themselves or someone else inside of a building. There will be little to no instruction in combatives or physical defense (critical topics, but not enough time for this event). Emphasized in this training will be structure clearing, indoor crisis response and tactical problem solving as you move into, through or out of a building by yourself or with someone else. We may offer a few physical defense options if fighting in a confined space, but available time will dictate. Overall, the goal is to provide students with fundamental food for thought if they are faced with certain indoor armed defense scenarios. We are realistic about what can be accomplished in one day and hope to merely present some effective methods for staying as safe as possible under the circumstances. The first couple of hours will include classroom instruction and the remainder of the day will consist of technical drilling and practical exercises with blue guns. With a single day of instruction and A LOT of information to provide, there is no time allotted for force-on-force evolutions. Lecture, demonstration and entry-level practical application will be the model for the day. We expect to have four instructors on hand (depending on enrollment). Assigned so far are Mike Barnhart, Brian Hartman and Sean Hendrickson (w/ a 4th instructor TBD). I hope this information helps. As always, please consider us a resource and don't hesitate to call or email if we can be of service. Steve Krystek PFC Training Krystek@PFCtraining.com 702.647.1126 www.PFCtraining.com |

You'll be part of the first class ever held here which will be recorded in history and no one can ever take that away from you. If that's not enough, you also get excellent training that is more valuable than your typical live fire range course. |
