You could get the stock converter adapter, or something like a tapco intrafuse stock.

I would do neither, and convert it as it is really easy. Seriously, show him pics of conversions and drive home the ease of it. Make it a project for the two of you to do while drinking some beers. Takes a couple hours at most.
