I am on the waiting list for a 50 upper and am looking for an AR lower. The only place that I can find them is the TM site and they are out of stock. That is unless I get an 80% lower. I have considered just getting a regular lower and grinding down and filling the mag well but that seems like too much for just a beveled front look. Anyone know of any other options?

Buy a regular lower, set it up for the upper and if you ever decide to sell the upper you'll have a lower to use for another rifle.

Look up the SMOS lower. It's a single shot lower beefed up specifically for 50 bmg uppers. I have one and like it much better than the standard lower that was on it. Not cheap at $300 but worth it.

SMOS is the way to go. Also check on GunBroker for one. SMOS sells them direct on there, and in my case it was cheaper via GB than from their website.

I saw a complete plastic lower online for $100 yesterday. At least at that price I wouldnt feel bad about filing down the magwel. Will probably just use my spare aluminum one until I make up my mind. Either that or I will just do the 80% thing.
